How to Maintain Injectable Results With the Right Skincare

Supporting Your Dysport and Filler Results

Injectable treatments are a powerful way to soften lines and restore a refreshed appearance, but the way you care for your skin plays a major role in how long those results last. At the practice of Lorraine Golosow, MD, a board-certified plastic surgeon in Fort Myers, patients often find that thoughtful skincare can help enhance and extend the benefits of Dysport and dermal fillers. By combining expert injectables with a personalized home routine, you support healthier skin that better showcases a smooth, natural-looking outcome. This approach focuses on realistic, gradual improvement rather than quick fixes, helping you maintain a rested appearance over time.

Why Skincare Matters After Dysport and Fillers

Injectable treatments such as Dysport and dermal fillers work in different ways to rejuvenate your appearance. Dysport softens expression lines by relaxing specific facial muscles, while fillers restore lost volume to areas that look flat or shadowed.

While these injectables significantly improve the skin’s surface appearance, achieving the best and longest-lasting results can also be dependent on factors such as sun damage, dryness, and texture. Consistent, nourishing skincare is essential to protect your skin and maximize the positive effects of your injectables.

Well-cared-for skin often appears smoother, brighter, and more even in tone, which complements the rejuvenating effects of Dysport and fillers. When your skin is hydrated and protected, fine lines may appear softer, and your results can appear more harmonious and natural.

Choosing Medical Grade Skincare for Lasting Benefits

Not all skincare products are created equal. Over-the-counter formulas can be helpful, but many patients benefit from medical-grade skin care that is formulated with higher concentrations of active ingredients. These products are designed to penetrate more effectively and create visible change in tone, texture, and firmness.

At Dr. Golosow’s practice, options such as professional-strength Obagi products can be incorporated into a customized routine to support collagen, improve discoloration, and maintain moisture. A typical plan might include a gentle cleanser, antioxidant serum, hydrating moisturizer, and broad-spectrum sunscreen, all selected to work safely alongside your Dysport and filler treatments.

Simple Daily Habits That Protect Your Results

Skincare is most effective when paired with healthy everyday habits. After your injectable appointment, following the guidance provided by Dr. Golosow and her team helps you heal comfortably and preserve your results. In the weeks and months that follow, small, consistent choices can make a meaningful difference.

  • Applying sunscreen every day and reapplying during extended time outdoors to reduce sun-related aging.
  • Staying well hydrated supports skin elasticity and a naturally plump appearance.
  • Avoiding smoking and limiting excess alcohol, which can contribute to premature aging and dullness.

These realistic steps do not stop the aging process, but they help you age more gracefully and get the most from each treatment session.

Understanding Why December Is the Perfect Time to Explore Versa

Understanding Why December Is the Perfect Time to Explore Versa fort meyers flordia

December often becomes the moment when people in Fort Myers decide it is finally time to invest in their confidence and book the aesthetic treatments they have been considering all year. If you are curious about Versa filler and wondering whether it may be the right option for you, this guide is designed to help you feel informed and at ease. Adults of many ages appreciate how Versa delivers natural-looking volume with minimal recovery time, making it an appealing choice during a busy season filled with events and gatherings.

Versa is a hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler commonly used to smooth facial lines or add gentle enhancement to the lips and cheeks. Its soft consistency allows for subtle refinement rather than an overly dramatic look. During December, Dr. Golosow is offering Versa at a special price of four hundred fifty dollars per syringe until the end of the month. This gives new patients a comfortable entry point to experience filler guided by an expert physician.

One of the biggest concerns for those trying filler for the first time is whether the results will look too noticeable. Versa is known for its smooth, balanced finish that integrates naturally with your facial features. When performed by an experienced physician such as Dr. Lorraine Golosow, whose background you can explore on the About Us page, patients feel reassured by the thoughtful and precise approach. The goal is never to change your appearance but to elevate your natural look in a way that feels authentic.

What to Expect at Your First Versa Appointment

Your first visit begins with a comfortable conversation. This is your opportunity to share the areas you hope to improve and the type of result that feels right for you. Dr. Golosow will assess your facial structure, explain how Versa works in simple and friendly language, and help determine whether it suits your goals. Many first-time patients are surprised by how calming and clear the consultation feels.

If you move forward with treatment, the appointment is efficient and designed with your comfort in mind. Most patients experience mild swelling or tenderness afterward, which typically resolves within a few days. Results develop gradually as the product settles, offering a soft and refreshed look rather than a sudden change. This steady improvement often feels more natural and less intimidating for first-time patients.

Areas Versa Can Enhance and How to Set Realistic Expectations

Versa is commonly chosen to smooth smile lines, refine the lips, restore cheek volume, or provide an overall refreshed appearance. Adults in the Fort Myers community appreciate that it delivers noticeable improvements without sacrificing a natural aesthetic. If you are new to filler, it helps to view Versa as an enhancement rather than a transformation. This mindset supports realistic expectations and a more satisfying experience.

How to Prepare for Your Versa Appointment

Why You Should Combine Aesthetic Treatments

While single treatments come with their own unique benefits, combining aesthetic treatments provides even better results and can be done all at one time. Whether you’re combining different injectables, laser treatments, or some combination in between, Dr. Golosow and our team will help you discover the perfect treatments for your needs. But before you come in for treatment, let’s take a look at some of the many benefits you can expect by combining aesthetic treatments.

Unlocking Superior Results

Combining aesthetic treatments can significantly improve the results you see. The results of certain treatments, when combined, can be exponential and build on top of each other. This is especially true for treatments like Botox and dermal fillers that both take years off your appearance. The same can be said about dermal fillers and laser treatments. By addressing volume loss and any skin imperfections simultaneously, we can completely transform your appearance in one treatment session.

Tailored Treatment Plans

With multiple aesthetic treatments, we can tailor your treatment to meet your specific needs. During your consultation, we’ll discuss your concerns, answer any questions you may have, and build a treatment plan that addresses all your concerns. Whether you’re looking to diminish fine lines and wrinkles, volume loss, hyperpigmentation, or uneven skin texture, a combination of aesthetic treatments in one tailored treatment plan can ensure we address all your concerns at one time.

Streamlined Recovery

By having multiple treatments done at once, you don’t have to worry about multiple recovery periods interfering with your schedule and can return to your normal daily routine much sooner than if you had the aesthetic treatments at different times. Only one recovery session also means you see results much quicker.

Do I Need Botox or Fillers or Both?

Many women and men are interested in facial rejuvenation that doesn’t require surgery or anesthesia. The use of neuromodulators like Botox and Dysport and injectable fillers have, therefore, increased in popularity. One may wonder which treatment is right for them. It all depends on what one’s objectives are.

What is Botox and what does it do?

First, Botox is the brand name for an injectable neuromodulator that is used to relax facial muscles that cause wrinkles. Other popular brands include Dysport, Xeomin, and Juveau. When injected into a muscle,  these neuromodulators temporarily paralyze the targeted muscle which then prevents it from contracting and causing wrinkles. Common target areas include the forehead to prevent the horizontal lines, the vertical lines (11 lines) between the brows, and the crow’s feet at the outer corner of the eyes. The results typically last 3-4 months and then the neuromodulator injection needs to be repeated.  Without reinjections, the muscle action gradually returns. Patients might notice, however, that the wrinkles seem less pronounced because the muscles become weaker over time with repeated injections.  The results of neuromodulators usually begin to be seen within 2-3 days after injection, but it might take up to 2 weeks to see the full results. Therefore, patients do not see their results when they leave their plastic surgeon’s office.

What are fillers and what are they used for?

Soft tissue fillers usually last 6 months to 1 year and are used to add volume to the face. Hyaluronic acid fillers, like Juvaderm and Restylane, are the most common ones used. Common areas that are treated are the cheeks, nasolabial folds, chin, marionette lines, and lips. The nice thing about fillers is that the results are immediate. Patients see the change in their facial lines when they leave the physician’s office.

Everything You Need To Know Before Having Your First Filler Treatment

Filler treatments have become increasingly popular in recent years as a non-surgical way to enhance facial features and improve signs of aging. However, if you’re new to the world of fillers, it can be overwhelming to know where to start. It’s important to do your research and understand what the treatment entails, as well as how to prepare for it and take care of yourself afterward.

Choosing a qualified and experienced doctor is key to achieving natural-looking results that meet your goals. In this article, we’ll cover everything you need to know before having your first filler treatment.

1. Choose a Qualified and Experienced Doctor

The first step in preparing for your filler treatment is finding a qualified, experienced doctor specializing in cosmetic treatments. Look for a board-certified plastic surgeon, like Dr. Golosow, who has extensive experience with filler injections. You can also ask for recommendations from friends or family members who have undergone similar procedures.

It’s essential to choose a doctor who listens to your needs and concerns and offers personalized treatment plans based on your unique features and goals. During your consultation, make sure to ask about their experience, and credentials and ask to see before and after photos of previous patients.

2. Understand the Types of Fillers Available

There are several types of fillers available, each designed for a specific purpose. The most common types of fillers include hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers such as Juvederm and Restylane. These are used to add volume to the skin, reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, and enhance facial features like the lips and cheeks.

There are many different types of Juvederm and Restylane, such as Restylane-L lip filler and Restylane Lyft for cheek augmentation. Dr. Golosow will explain all your options at your consultation to determine the right filler(s) for your individual treatment plan.

3. Prepare for the Procedure

Once you’ve chosen a doctor and type of filler, it’s important to prepare for your treatment. Your doctor will provide you with specific instructions on how to prepare for your appointment, but there are a few general guidelines to follow. Avoid blood thinners, such as aspirin or ibuprofen, for at least a week before your appointment. You should also avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before your appointment. Finally, be sure to discuss any allergies or medical conditions with your doctor before your treatment.

Schedule a Consultation

Getting your first filler treatment can be an exciting experience, but it’s important to do your research and understand the process.  If you’re interested in getting a filler treatment, we encourage you to schedule a consultation with Dr. Lorraine Golosow. With her expertise and experience, Dr. Golosow can help you achieve your aesthetic goals and feel confident in your appearance while ensuring a safe injectable treatment.

Differences Between Juvederm and Juvederm Ultra

woman getting juvederm and juvederm ultra

If you are considering dermal filler treatment, you may be wondering if Juvederm or Juvederm Ultra is the best option for you. Both of these products are made by the same company, but they have different ingredients and offer different benefits. In this blog post, we will discuss the differences between Juvederm and Juvederm Ultra so that you can make an informed decision about which product is right for you.

What is Juvederm?

Juvederm is a dermal filler that is made from a substance called hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in the human body and it helps keep the skin hydrated and plump. Juvederm is used to treat wrinkles, fine lines, and other signs of aging while providing the skin with this hydration boost.

What is Juvederm Ultra?

Juvederm Ultra is also a dermal filler that is made from hyaluronic acid. However, Juvederm Ultra contains a higher concentration of hyaluronic acid than Juvederm which makes it more effective at treating deeper wrinkles and lines.

What Are the Differences Between Juvederm and Juvederm Ultra?

1. The main difference between Juvederm and Juvederm Ultra is the concentration of hyaluronic acid. Juvederm contains a lower concentration of hyaluronic acid, while Juvederm Ultra contains a higher concentration. This means that Juvederm Ultra is more effective at treating deep wrinkles and lines.

2. Another difference between Juvederm and Juvederm Ultra is the size of the particles. Juvederm contains larger particles than Juvederm Ultra and this affects how long the dermal filler lasts. Juvederm usually lasts for about six months, while Juvederm Ultra lasts about nine months to a year.

3. Both Juvederm and Juvederm Ultra are FDA-approved for the treatment of wrinkles and fine lines. However, Juvederm Ultra is also FDA-approved for the treatment of lip augmentation. If you are considering either of these procedures, be sure to discuss your options and cosmetic goals with a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon.

4. Juvederm Ultra Plus can effectively target mid-face volume loss, deep nasolabial folds and wrinkles, dramatic lip enhancement, and overall facial shaping and contouring. Juvederm Voluma is the newest addition to the Juvederm line and is specifically designed to target age-related volume loss in the cheek area.

At this time, there is no evidence to suggest that one product is better than the other. However, some patients may prefer Juvederm Ultra because of the added benefits of lidocaine, a numbing agent that makes the injections more comfortable.

4 Types of Restylane® Injectable Treatments

Restylane® has many different benefits. This safe and effective injectable treatment can give you a more youthful appearance, even when not in your youth. Appealing cheekbones, a lifted jawline, and more prominent cheekbones are just some of the expected results of Restylane injections. Restylane is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler that plumps up fine lines and gives your face a more youthful appearance. While it’s not as well known as Botox® or Juvederm®, many patients love the natural results. Here are the different types of Restylane injections explained.

Restylane Defyne and Refyne

Restylane Defyne and Restylane Refyne are excellent options if you want more volume in a particular area of your face, such as your cheeks or lips. In fact, both of these dermal fillers contain more hyaluronic acid than regular Restylane. This means they are more likely to last longer than other types of Restylane while still maintaining your natural expressions. Dermal fillers made of hyaluronic acid are ideal for lip enhancement because they are absorbed at a slow rate by the body. This means they will give you a long-lasting lip augmentation with little maintenance required. Hyaluronic acid also provides a natural-looking result when used to treat depressed acne scars. This is because it provides volume to the depressed area, which helps it rise back to the surface and be less noticeable.

Restylane-L

Restylane-L is ideal if you have deep wrinkles or facial folds and want to correct them with a single treatment. Unlike other types of Restylane, it contains larger molecules that provide a longer-lasting correction. This makes it ideal for treating stubborn folds, such as those around the mouth and cheeks. Restylane-L is also the best option for people who have never had dermal filler treatment before.

Restylane Lyft

Restylane Lyft is the most recently introduced dermal filler. It’s ideal for people who want more dramatic correction, including those who have never had any facial treatments before. Because Restylane Lyft contains larger molecules than the other types of Restylane, it provides a more dramatic correction that lasts longer than standard Restylane. This makes it ideal for people who want more volume in a specific area.

Restylane Silk and Restylane Kysse

Restylane Silk is a recent addition to the Restylane family. The unique formula of hyaluronic acid provides a smoother and more natural finish than other Restylane treatments. Restylane Kysse is another hyaluronic acid dermal filler developed to correct moderate to severe folds and wrinkles present on the lower third of the face. As the name suggests, Restylane Kysse can smooth the skin of the lips and provide a more natural look with increased lip pigmentation.

Your Guide to Botox & Injectables

Our lives are built on emotions, and our faces help express them. With fine-tuned control over hundreds of muscles, we can express everything from laughing and smiling to frowning or crying to help others understand what we’re experiencing at any given moment.

The downside is, use of these muscles over time can cause wrinkles or fine lines to appear, sometimes making people look older than they feel. Going under the knife is one way to deal with this, but injectables are an often-used alternative, as they offer minimally invasive approaches to addressing the signs of aging.

What is Botox?

Botox uses an injectable approach of gently smoothing away fine lines and wrinkles on the face. Botox is a muscle relaxer. When you relax certain muscles on the face, they are prevented from creasing when you make certain expressions, reducing the appearance of wrinkles like laugh lines or so-called “11 lines.”

The active ingredient in Botox is a neurotoxin that targets the muscles that create wrinkles when they are flexed, resulting in a three- to six-month solution for smooth skin. And Botox can be used for more than just wrinkle reduction. The FDA has approved Botox for use along the temples to treat migraines and around the neck for aesthetic purposes.

Most Common Uses of Botox

  • “11” Lines: Botox that smoothens the 11 lines/ frown lines that appear on the glabellar line, the region between the eyebrows.
  • Forehead wrinkles: Botox injected strategically throughout the forehead can result in the reduced appearance of forehead creases.
  • Sweating: Botox injected under the arms targets the sweat glands to reduce excessive sweating in these areas.
  • Crow’s Feet: Employing injectables like Botox is one way to smoothen crow’s feet. These are creases resulting from years of squinting and smiling and form around the eyes.

Dermal Filler Uses and Benefits

Fillers are as simple as their name; they are naturally derived formulas that fill in creases and plump hollowed areas to get smoother and fuller skin. They help people get a more youthful look by adding volume and reducing the appearance of wrinkles.

Most dermal fillers, like Juvederm and Restylane, are made with a substance called hyaluronic acid that, when injected, minimizes the appearances of lines and increases volume. This substance is naturally produced by the skin and is therefore not a harmful or risky procedure.

During a consultation with Dr. Golosow in her Fort Myers office, she can help identify which dermal fillers or Botox solution may be right for your specific problem areas and concerns. Dermal filler solutions for you may include any of the following injectables:

1. Kybella Injections

Kybella’s injectable formula contains deoxycholic acid that enables quick breakdown and absorption of fat cells. It is most effective in treating double chins, as it ensures the fat beneath the chin quickly melts away and is no longer able to store fat.

2. Xeomin

This injectable is an alternative to Botox that may be used when patients have an allergic reaction or other contraindication that prevents them from utilizing that specific formula.

3. Juvéderm

Juvéderm is a line of dermal fillers that is effective in plumping lips or reducing the appearance of wrinkles for long-lasting results.

4. Voluma

Voluma XC can add volume at the center of the face. It is a hyaluronic acid-based product that has long-lasting effects: up to two years in some patients.
